What we do

We get people talking!

Since it started in 2007, the VIP has reached thousands of kids, collected thousands of pledges to non-violence, and helped to bring about open and honest talk between youth and adults.  We have had our own “rap sessions”, and we have been out there with other groups at festivals, meetings, in the schools, at marches, and in the community helping to spread the word that the violence has to stop!

We use the strength of the media, technology, visual effects, music and the arts, entertainment, youth based speakers, and other mediums that appeal to youth to spread the non-violence message.  Youth have been involved in every step of this project, including voting on the colors, the sign, and the web design, recording and producing our theme song, and planning activities.  The youth create, the adults support!

The VIP is helping kids speak out and be recognized! Young people are creating a positive groundswell that is getting attention  and receiving the support of community leaders and organizations, educators, local businesses, the media, law enforcement, faith based leaders, government, entertainers, athletes, and artists who are all donating time and resources to help with this project, even well-known celebrities like DJ Khaled and K Foxx,  Rick Ross,  Ace Hood,  Theaddeus “The Creepa” Martin, and University of Miami Football coach Randy Shannon have attended events to support VIP and the anti-violence movement.

It’s all about the community.  It’s all about you!
